A road that was moved to create a link through a regeneration estate and space for a college has been officially opened.
Lanacre Avenue, which originally ran up the west side of the Grahame Park estate, has been moved to the middle and will provide space for a new campus for Barnet and Southgate College.
The new college, based at the southern end of the road, aims to open in September 2016 and will include the Grahame Park library and Centre for Independent Living, currently based on the Grahame Park estate.
Leader of Barnet Council Councillor Richard Cornelius and Hendon MP Matthew Offord cut a ribbon to declare the road officially open last week, along with partners from Genesis Housing Association, Re, Barnet and Southgate College and Barnet Homes.
Cllr Cornelius said: "It has been a long while coming but I am pleased to see real progress being made."
