Plans for a new free school will go on display tonight after there was uproar about a potential site.
Parents will meet to defend proposals for the new Gladstone Free School, to open in Gladstone Park, Cricklewood, in September 2014.
Brent Borough Council’s opposition Liberal Democrats have launched a petition urging the authority to refuse planning permission as it is in a “loved” area.
But the Friends of Gladstone Free School have begun a petition to show the need for the school in the area.
If approved, it would be built on the cusp of Brent and Barnet, between Gladstone Park Gardens and the railway line.
The meeting will be held from 6pm to 7pm at the Crown Moran Hotel, in Cricklewood, this evening.
