Students got their hands dirty when they took part in a campaign to keep their school and the local area clean.
Dozens of pupils from Whitefield School, in Claremount Road, Brent Cross, donned gloves and green jackets to pick up litter as part of the ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ campaign last week.
The ‘green team’ cleaned up areas of the school where most litter builds up and sorted through the rubbish to find recycling.
The exercise was part of a recycling project starting throughout the school, in which an ‘eco-committee’ made up of students is put in charge of collecting and sorting recyclable waste.
