Video footage shows the moment a daring armed gang rode through Brent Cross shopping centre on motorbikes and raided a jewellery store.

Terrified shoppers fled the busy centre as the axe-wielding robbers stole Rolex and Cartier watches, as well as jewellery, from Fraser Hart at 10.30am.

Six men on three high-powered motorcycles drove into the packed centre shortly after it opened.

One of the robbers swung an axe and made threats at security staff before smashing a glass barrier while his accomplices entered the store and grabbed the stash.

Unconfirmed reports are that the gang fled with almost £2million of designer watches and jewellery while staff hid in secure back rooms.
